In Dresden Germany you will find a historic in-house brewery and restaurant, with the best views, Ballhaus Watzke where they, of course, serve Watzke beer. The upper floor of the building is a gorgeous ballroom that was once used to house soldiers during the war and is now used to host all sorts of events. On the ground floor is the actual brewery, where you can smell the hops. On the side of the building just outside the main restaurant is a large and spacious biergarten that is on the bank of the Elbe river. It was on a surprisingly warm October day that my friend Ben and I enjoyed some cold beers, the homemade sausage (which was delicious), and the beautiful view.
The brewery has a different beer on tap every month. I enjoyed the Watzkes Pils, which is a German Pilsner. It was hoppy, sweet, and delicious!
