Argentina – Piattelli Torrontés

In wine, we’re taught to smell, smell, smell and trust our nose. But, there is always a conman out there. Torrontés, is that liar. It is a white Argentina grape. It sits sweetly in its glass looking ever so innocent and then it hits you, the taste doesn’t match the smell, at all! You think it is sweet by the smell, but the minute you taste it you realize it is a dry wine with flavors of lemon and peach. I really love Albariño and dry Rieslings and Torrontés is similar to these. It’s going to pair well with Asian foods. Fancy a curry? Order in, bring out a bottle of Torrontés and feel super fancy with your simple yet very diverse cuisine!

📝 I really like to drink this grape in general with lighter meals, but it pairs amazing with Indian food. I had a few Torrontes when I was in Argentina, but my friend Kate and I both agreed this was our favorite of the bunch!
