I am so excited to be doing a blog feature the next two weeks. I absolutely love the Russian River Valley and especially the areas near Healdsburg and Geyserville. My friend Kate and I first discovered this amazing area in 2012 when we were looking for friendlier more approachable places to taste, that would allow Lord Indy to come, and not be as Cabernet and Chardonnay centric as Napa. We were also looking for value for money and lesser well-known wineries and wines that we could discover.
We absolute uncovered what has become my idea of heaven on earth in the Russian River valley. I love Love LOVE Pinot Noir and Russian River Pinot Noir remains my favorite (sorry, Burgundy you’re amazing and definitely a strong runner up, but the rose goes to Russian River). We discovered many many boutique and larger wineries that are dog friendly, have great value wines, small crowds, personal experiences, and incredibly friendly people! One of the main roads in this area is Westside Road. Over the next two weeks I will be providing reviews of some of the wineries on this road as well as their wines. It is my pleasure to get to share with you some of my favorite wineries and tasting experiences and which to avoid so you have more time to enjoy the gems. I hope you enjoy it!
Here is a list of the coming wineries on Westside Road that I will be reviewing:
- Twomey Winery
- Gracianna
- Thomas George Estates
- DaVero
- Williams Selyem
