Flowers Vineyards and Winery

I first had a Flowers 2009 Pinot Noir many many years ago. I remember it had lovely strawberry flavor and that special kind of layered complexity that I associate with Sonoma Coast Pinots. At that time, they did not have a tasting room. This year they opened what I think is going to become one of the cool and trendy tasting rooms in the Russian River Valley.

The House of Flowers as the tasting room is called is in the space that previously used to house VML wineries. The tasting experience has been completely designed to be an experience and destination that you remember. The visitor center is modern and stunning. It has a HUGE chandelier (imported from a Dutch cathedral), beautiful dramatic textiles from local artists and tree trunk furniture. But, that is not the star of the House of Flowers, that star is the luxurious outdoor space, which looks and feels like more of a swanky resort destination that a vineyard.

The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir produced by flowers is biodynamic and organic. For the tasting experience you will get to drink these wines with little finger food prepared by Chef, Jamil Peden. The tasting is $55 and dogs and minors are not allowed.
