I’m in Paso Robles over this holiday weekend working on several stories and posts. Sometimes a place comes along that is so special you just can’t wait to post about it! Hammersky Vineyards is that place.
I found Hammersky because of a sign on the road saying it was Dog Friendly! My wine tasting partner and I decided to be spontaneous and forgo my researched and planned agenda for something unknown. Walking up to the grounds was like walking into a romantic vineyard-based movie. “If the wines are horrid,” I told my partner in wine, “at least the view will be worth it”.
Sitting outside the tasting room on a shaded couch with a view of a 320 year old oak rising from the vines while drinking a delicious sparkling wine made the decision to be adventurous seem like a brilliant one. The staff was friendly. The wines were delicious. The oak trees and the view? Well, that’s the kind of ambiance wine dreams are made of. I will definitely be returning. Hopefully soon.
