DaVero Winery & Farm

I know this is a wine blog, but before I talk about DaVero’s wines and wine tasting experience, I have to take about their Olive Oil. Their heavenly, delicious, out of this world olive oil. I am salivating as I type this… Their estate extra virgin olive oil has won multiple awares and is served in Mario Batali’s New York City restaurant, Babbo. It is rich, peppery and perfectly balanced and delicious in every way an olive oil should be. It’s simple put culinary amazingness.

I’m still dreaming of the olive oil… ok….

If you are looking for a truly original and different wine tasting experience, something that feels off the beaten path, then DeVero is your place! Tasting at DaVero feels like tasting in a farm, and it is magical! The first time I went tasting was in 2015 and I got to drink wine while looking at piglets! PIGLETS?!?! Davero is a functioning biodynamic farm producing biodynamic wines that are made out of Italian varietals. If you want a taste of Italy in California, this is the place!

To really get the true experience of a visit you need to book a tasting and you can meet the animals, walk through the vineyards and sit in the flower garden and taste wines and eat charcuterie. That is my idea of a good day!
