2016 Dourthe No. 1 Bordeaux

Did you know that there was a point in time when China was the largest importer of high end Bordeaux wines? Due to many factors that is no longer the case, but they are still the largest importer of generic low end AOC Bordeaux wine. That, however, doesn’t make it not expensive! In fact, most glasses (at places I’ve been) are $20-25 per glass! I travel to China a bit for work and it’s always interesting to see what’s around. The average price of this wine bottle in the US is $10 in Beijing retail, not at a hotel or restaurant it’s around $30-40.

Although not amazing it’s an easy drinker and for $10 in the US, I’d say it’s good value for money.
