Bitchin’ in the Kitchen gave me another difficult pairing challenge – a lemon dessert with homemade lemon curd. I chose this Riesling and we all agreed it was the best pairing of the night. I originally wanted a late harvest Riesling, but this one seemed extra sweet enough to do the trick. Glad it worked!
I used to steer clear of Rieslings because I thought they were too sweet, but then I realized at pairing after pairing I attended Riesling was served! It is such a gastronomic and wonderful wine with food!
This one is from the Mosel Valley. It smells of green apple and sweet fruits. It’s very sweet, smooth finish, medium acid… but with the lemon it wasn’t too sweet at all! Just perfect!
